Engineering firm selected to design cell at Anchorage landfill

Bristol Environmental & Engineering Services Corp., a subsidiary of Bristol Bay Native Corp., has been awarded the Anchorage Regional Landfill cell expansion contract to design a new lined landfill cell with a footprint of approximately 5.5 acres. The contract was awarded last month by the Municipality of Anchorage. The new cell is the seventh and latest in a series of expansions at the landfill, which served a community of 270,000. Bristol plans to have the design ready to bid for construction by next year and anticipates construction completion by fall 2010

New restaurant, and salon and spa open at Northway Mall

Two new stores have opened at Northway Mall, the East Anchorage mall said. Dossman's Cajun Kitchen is a restaurant that features Creole and Cajun cuisine, including jambalaya, ribs, catfish, and seafood gumbo. Instyle's Salon & Spa is a full-service salon offering hair and nail care, facials, waxing and massage.
