DENALI NATIONAL PARK -- The strike for bus mechanics, radio technicians and warehouse workers at Denali National Park is over.
IBEW 1547 business manager Larry Bell says the 17 employees voted by a 2-to-1 margin Thursday night for the new four-year contract with Doyon/ARAMARK, the park concessionaire.
Bell says the workers voted for the deal because it was collective and fair, the monetary increases in each of the four years recognize the high cost of living in Interior Alaska and the employees now have formal representation in the workplace.
Contract terms were not released.
The strike started July 1, just ahead of the busy holiday weekend. The employees will return to work Monday.
