Reuters: The Interior Department this week released more than a thousand formerly classified, high-resolution intelligence images of Arctic ice to help scientists study the effects of climate change. The move came within hours of a recommendation by the National Academy of Sciences. Some 700 images show swatches of sea ice from six sites in the Arctic Ocean, with an additional 500 images of sites in the U.S. The images can be seen here.
