The foursome was seen walking toward Singing Hills Girl Scout camp at Edmonds Lake on July 1, moments before someone heard breaking glass and the camp house began to burn, said Anchorage Fire Department investigator Brian Balega.
Staff from the nearby Camp Carlquist Boy Scout camp first spotted the four at about 8 p.m. There were two men and two women in their late teens or early 20s. Staffers shooed them way from a private dock at the lake.
The group was later seen putting out a campfire beside the lake and walking toward the Girl Scout camp.
"A short time later, they hear glass breaking and see one of the females running down to the lake," Balega said.
Police arrived to find the Girl Scout camp's only building, a meeting and kitchen facility, burning to the ground.
Police described the suspects as:
• A white man, 5-feet 8-inches, with long brown hair down to the small of his back. He has a noticeable scar, or mark, just below his sternum.
• A Native or white man, 5-feet 2-inches, with a piercings on his lower lip and a black earring in his left ear.
• A white woman, 5-feet 5-inches, with short brown hair and black eyeglasses.
• A white woman, about 5-feet 2-inches, with blond or light brown hair.
Police are asking anyone with information about the case to call Balega at 267-4906 or Crime Stoppers at 561-7867.
