The Famous Chicken, formerly known as the San Diego Chicken, pranced, danced and clowned before several hundred fans at Mulcahy Stadium on Monday night during the Alaska Baseball League game between the Anchorage Bucs and Athletes In Action. It was the first time The Chicken has been at Mulcahy since 1990.
The Chicken hit the field in the middle of the third inning. Among Monday’s antics: a water balloon fight with an Athletes In Action player, wiping down a cooperative umpire and leading four baby chicks prancing up and down the baselines.
Under the chicken outfit was Ted Giannoulas, who has channeled his inner chicken for fans across the country the past 35 years.
