AROUND THE HORN • The Peninsula Oilers survived a ninth-inning scare when, tied 1-1 with the Mat-Su Miners, pitcher Kevin Rath threw a curve ball to strike out Nick Cox. In the top of the twelfth inning, Gary Kuykendall hit a two-out single to win the game 2-1 on Tuesday. David Stilley pitched nine innings for the Miners, striking out six batters with one unearned run. • Michael Hur went 4 for 4, driving in Jason Martinson in the ninth inning for the game-winner as the Bucs defeated Athletes in Action 5-4. Winning pitcher Erik Miller threw for two innings, striking out four batters to improve his record to 2-1. • In the first inning, Gunner Glad hit a grand slam to highlight the Glacier Pilots' 11-1 victory over the Fairbanks Goldpanners.
