Traffic was completely cut off at Mile 86 by a tanker truck that jack-knifed and rolled onto its side, according to Mat-Su Borough emergency officials.

The truck was carrying salt, said Dennis Brodigan, the borough's emergency services director. No salt or fuel spilled, though some hydraulic fluid was leaking out, according to emergency dispatch logs.

A caller told dispatchers just after 10 a.m. that the driver was walking around, bleeding, Brodigan said. The driver told an ambulance crew that he didn't need medical help. Additional emergency responders dispatched from Sutton and Palmer.

As of about 4:10 p.m., the road had been opened to a single lane of travel, and officials were expecting it to fully reopen shortly, troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said.

The area is between Sutton and the Matanuska Glacier near Long Lake.
