McDonald enters his second year as superintendent of the district, where he has worked for 11 years in a variety of positions, including special education instructor, grant administrator and assistant superintendent.

The school board says it wants McDonald to implement a technology plan to boost student learning and use stimulus money without increasing the district budget. Another goal is to improve communication between the district and the community.
