Katie (1992-2008) - Anything a dog can do to get in trouble, she did. We got her from the pound when she was just under a year old. She slipped the collar as they were bringing her to us and ran around the pound. She was an escape artist who could jump a 10 foot fence, slip any collar, and snap cable in half. She loved to drag the neighbors' garbage around, and lived to chase moose. Her favorite perfume was rotten salmon. She got loose when we were dogsledding once, and her daughter pulled a Lassie and lead me to her, tangled around a tree way back in the woods so bad I doubt even she could have found a way out without help. She never fell for the same trick twice and the dog catcher was only able to catch her one time, so he would mail us tickets every time a husky was loose in our neighborhood. She was the best dog in the world and I miss her dearly. PHOTO COURTESY OF EMILY / ADN READER SUBMISSION
