Lu Young died Sunday of natural causes at the couple's home in Great Falls, Va. She was 67.
The memorial for family and friends will be held Saturday morning at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Great Falls.
Young's office says a memorial also is planned in Alaska, but details have not yet been confirmed.
The couple met in Fort Yukon, where he was a teacher and she was a bookkeeper. They were married for 46 years, and have two daughters and 14 grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the Young family asked that donations be made to the Lu Young Fund for Children of Families Fighting Cancer or the Doyon Foundation.
