Recital times two

Violinist Erika Beheim and pianist Freya Wardlaw-Bailey will present a recital at 7:30 tonight at the Steinway Piano Gallery of Alaska, 637 A Street. The two friends have been playing together for several years. Their program will feature sonatas by Mozart, Beethoven and Brahms as well as Bartok's "Romanian Folk Dances." Admission is by donation. No reservations for the small hall, so music lovers are advised to arrive a few minutes early.

Belly burlesque

VivaVoom Brr-Lesque will bring up internationally known belly dancer Princess Farhana to open their fifth season, with three shows only, Aug.13-15, at Chilkoot Charlie's. Farhana will join local burlesquers and belly dancers in "Through the Veil," a magical carpet ride through comedy, music, circus and striptease. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the door. But this one's a good bet to sell out fast. Get tickets now at koots.com. Farhana will also present workshops during her stay here. Get information and reservations by e-mailing Lola Pistola at vivavoomburlesque@ yahoo.com.
