Charities get a look at Alaska

The annual tour of Alaska for officials of Outside charities is under way this week with stops in Anchorage, Bethel, Napaskiak, Barrow and Prudhoe Bay. In its 13th year, the summer invitational hosted by the Rasmuson Foundation and co-sponsored by a wide range of agencies seeks to convince Outside nonprofits to invest in Alaska. More than $50 million has been injected into the Alaska nonprofit sector through grants and partnerships with state charities as a result of the tours, according to Rasmuson spokeswoman Cassandra Stalzer.
