Link: The Cordova Times Disposing of the mountains of nylon gillnet and seine web accumulating seasonally in Cordova is no easy feat. Nets thrown in dumpsters and sent to the baler create a web of mess, tangling in city refuse equipment and increasing costs. The nylon and polypropylene in web and lines will not decompose anytime soon. But thanks to active community partners and fisherman, a net recycling program is under way. Naknek, Dillingham and Petersburg are also participating in the program.
