A small airplane went down along Knik Arm near Eklutna Monday evening, leaving the four occupants with minor injuries, according to police and aviation officials. The pilot reported being headed toward Birchwood, about three or four miles out, when the Cessna 180 lost power, National Transportation Safety Board investigator Clint Johnson said. The pilot put the plane down in the trees behind Eklutna village about 5:30 p.m.
Those aboard suffered cuts and abrasions and were transported to a hospital to be examined.
The NTSB was investigating the crash.
