Northrim Bank has promoted Joe Beedle to president effective this week, Northrim announced.

Beedle has been executive vice president and chief lending officer. He will keep primary responsibility for lending, Northrim said.

"This promotion is part of the company's strategic plan for management succession," said Marc Langland, chairman and chief executive of Anchorage-based Northrim Bank.

Beedle has more than 20 years of banking experience, including 10 in an executive lending role, having served as executive vice president and chief credit officer for Key Bank of Alaska, and vice president and commercial loan administrator for First Bank Ketchikan, Northrim said.

Beedle was chief financial officer for the University of Alaska system for six years. He served as chief executive of Goldbelt Inc., a Juneau Native corporation, before joining the university.

Beedle's community activities include serving on the board of Commonwealth North and the Alaska Council on Economic Education. He is on the advisory boards of the Alaska Small Business Development Center and the University of Alaska Fairbanks chancellor, and is on the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame selection committee, Northrim said.
