Link: Petersburg Pilot Petersburg has been beset all summer by an open-meetings scandal -- four members of the City Council are alleged to have met in violation of state law. The question of who witnessed the meetings has finally been answered, but did she really witness them? Resident Mara Cisney says she decided to complain after the councillors voted to fire the city manager despite vocal public opposition. Two of the four councillors have resigned, one isn't running for re-election and the fourth is the subject of a recall effort. But Cisney says she only saw the councillors' cars parked together outside a church on several occasions; she didn't see an actual meeting in progress.
