Link: Alaska Journal of Commerce Kodiak Kenai Cable Co., which already provides broadband service linking the Peninsula and Kodiak Island to Anchorage, is hoping to win federal stimulus money to extend its undersea fiber-optic cables out the Aleutian chain and to Western Alaska and the North Slope. In all, 150 communities would get broadband, the company says. KKCC is aiming to have service in place in late 2011 if it wins funding.
