Earthquake rattles Cantwell area; no damage reported

An earthquake has rattled residents of Cantwell, about 100 miles south of Fairbanks.

The epicenter of the quake at 1:42 p.m. Friday was 20 miles east-northeast of Cantwell, a community of nearly 200 that's 28 miles south of Denali National Park.

The Alaska Earthquake Information Center says the estimated magnitude 4.0 quake was about 6 miles deep.

The center says it received no reports of damage.
