A wildlife enthusiast photographing trumpeter swans Thursday, August 27, 2009, at Tern Lake on the Kenai Peninsula was shocked to discover an arrow sticking out of one of them. The swan was still alive when Jeff Bryden, lead law enforcement officer for Chugach National Forest, responded to the report. "We've got no leads and no suspects," said Bryden, who wasn't optimistic about the chances of rescue.
