Alaska State Fair schedule and results

Published: September 1, 2009

In only his second year of trying to grow a giant pumpkin, Dale Marshall succeeded growing two that he believes weigh over 500 pounds. Marshall built a special greenhouse just to house the pumpkins and the vine and had to bump it out twice to meet their growing needs. Marshall plans to enter both in the Giant Pumpkin Weigh-off at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer Sept. 2, 2009.
