Link: KSTK, Wrangell Canada is officially on board with a new and long-desired British Columbia power line that could eventually tie Southeast Alaska into the North American power grid and bring down rates. Prime Minister Stephen Harper this week announced that the project will be eligible for up to $130 million (Canadian) in green infrastructure funds as part of "Canada's commitment to clean energy." But the project has plenty of environmental hurdles still to jump.
