FAIRBANKS -- A man who drunkenly sped through a village on a stolen snowmachine has been sentenced to two years in jail.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports 31-year-old William C. Sommer pleaded guilty Wednesday in a deal with prosecutors who dropped charges of theft and resisting arrest.
The drunken driving happened last spring in Huslia, a village of 300 people about 260 miles northeast of Fairbanks.
Sommers' public defender says he hopes to receive alcohol treatment in jail.
