Link: Radio New Zealand Juneau carpenter and artist David Walker, already well known in Southeast for his wearable wooden wonders, has finally garnered the biggest prize: first place at the World of Wearable Art Awards in Wellington, New Zealand. His winning "Lady of the Wood" entry, also a winner in Juneau's 2009 wearable art contest (click to see a photo), is based on a 17th-century ball gown and is made entirely out of mahogany, lacewood, maple and cedar.
