The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reported the council voted 4-3 Monday to override the mayor and put the censure resolution on the Oct. 5 calendar.

That's the day before North Pole voters elect a mayor and fill two council seats, including Wilson's.

The confidential meeting on June 1 was held to discuss an ethics complaint filed against Mayor Doug Isaacson. Wilson's recording came to light after the mayor sued the council last month to stop the complaint.

Wilson said the recording was like note-taking. He apologized and said he wouldn't do it again.
