Police responding to a report of a mutilated body with a severed head Wednesday afternoon were left wondering how the carcass of an ungulate landed itself on the roof of a Midtown office building.
The carcass consisted of a severed spinal column and some ribs that likely belonged to a moose, police Lt. Dave Parker said. A maintenance worker came across the site on the roof of Building L on Business Park Boulevard off the southwest corner of Tudor Road and C Street about 1:30 p.m. The carcass had been there for some time, police said. How exactly it got there was not clear. Parker said it could have been a prank or perhaps someone decided to skin a moose under the Midtown sky. The building maintenance personnel would be responsible for clearing it away, Parker said.
