(10/08/09 13:03:53)

Link: SITNews, Ketchikan Ketchikan writer and borough Mayor Dave Kiffer says wacky comments by "summer people" -- cruise passengers and other tourists -- seemed to be down this year, perhaps due to the economy. Still, he pulled together enough for a long column. One woman explained salmon behavior in a Ketchikan creek to a companion: "The water is shallower there and warmer. That's why they jump so much. They're trying to cool off." Another asked, "What time do the salmon go up the creek?" Another: "What time is the whale show in the harbor?" Click the link for plenty more.
