Link: Nome Nugget Jim West Sr., best known as owner of the Board of Trade Saloon, one of Alaska's most infamously rowdy watering holes, died last week at age 82. His business endeavors also included ivory trading, fuel delivery and a bingo and pull-tab hall. West also served on municipal commissions. Services are this afternoon in Nome, followed by a celebration of life at the Board of Trade. The Nugget plans to publish an extensive obituary in next week's edition.
