The three, all of them riding in one of the two vehicles involved in the collision, were: James Breslin, 41, of Oklahoma; Jeffrey Gardinier, 49, of Colorado; and Ronald Staggs, 45, of Montana.
They were in a Mustang owned by Staggs, said police spokesman Lt. Dave Parker.
Witnesses told police the Mustang was headed west on Dimond at a high speed. It appeared to go out of control and jumped the median at about 8:20 p.m. just west of Arctic Boulevard.
The Mustang collided with a Chevrolet pickup carrying John P. and Sherry Novak, a 9-year-old boy and 11-year-old girl, according to police.
All four were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Parker said.
