Grants aid Tlingit language, culture education

JUNEAU -- Millions of dollars in education grants are going toward Tlingit language learning for Juneau students.

The $3.7 million in federal grant money was obtained from the Goldbelt Heritage Foundation and will be used over the next four years to teach Tlingit language and culture.

One of the four grants was obtained in partnership with the Juneau School District and will be implemented at Gastineau and Harborview Elementary schools.
