Sam Wicks set a school record for the East Thunderbirds in the 50-meter freestyle race Friday, winning in a time of 24.55 seconds. She broke the mark of 24.67 set by Meghan Cavanaugh in 2005.

Wicks also won the 100 butterfly, propelling the East girls to a 101-84 victory over South. Jesi Cavanaugh (200 and 500 free) was also a double winner for the Thunderbirds, who swept the relays.

Freshman Zack Rockwell posted wins in the 200 free and 100 backstroke to lead the South boys to a dominating 112-73 victory over East.

East was led by Shawn Wooten, who won the 50 and 100 freestyle races.

Lynx boys, Cougars girls split meet

The Dimond boys won all three relay events to earn a 122-52 win over Service. On the girls side, Service turned the tables with a sweep of the relays en route to a 104-60 victory.

Double event winners for the Service girls were Jordan Iverson (200 IM and 500 free), Christine Kirk (50 free and 100 breast stroke) and Margot Adams (100 free and 100 back).

Adam Kowalewksi (50 free and 100 fly) and Matt Summers (100 free and 100 back) paced the Dimond boys with a pair of wins each. Service was led by Wyatt Adams' wins in the 200 and 500 free.

Chugiak girls hang on to best Wolves 99-94

Eagle River won the final two events, but the Chugiak girls hung on to defeat the Wolves 99-94.

Chugiak took first and second in the 200 medley relay, swept the top three spots in the 100 butterfly and won seven of 12 events.

The Chugiak boys made it a sweep by downing Eagle River 102-56.

West crushes Bartlett 140-15 and 102-46

The West girls and boys left Bartlett in their wake with the girls cruising to a 140-15 victory and the boys posting a 102-46 triumph.

The West girls won all 12 races, while the boys won nine of the 12 events.

The top race of the meet came in the boys 400 freestyle relay, in which Bartlett pulled ahead to edge West by six seconds.
