A dangerous Coast Guard job few know about

(10/19/09 10:24:05)

Link: Juneau Empire A Coast Guard crew removed buoys from shallow waters in the Gastineau Channel near Juneau on Friday. It's a dangerous job that must be done before freeze-up each year, using a small boat that can be unstable if something goes wrong while heavy buoys are being winched aboard. And putting the buoys back in spring is even tougher, says Chief Boatswain's Mate John Moreland.
