The Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority board has unanimously approved issuing up to $35 million in conduit revenue bonds for the Greater Fairbanks Community Hospital Foundation. The bond issue will complete the refunding of the bonds that AIDEA issued in 2004 to finance improvements at the Fairbanks Community Hospital. It will pay for constructing and equipping the foundation's Harry and Sally Porter Heart Center, the centerpiece of the new cardiology program that will employ 21 people. The foundation is responsible for repaying the bonds.
The AIDEA board also recently approved participating in the following business loans brought to it by a financial institution. Both loans are to LINA LLC, Scott L. and Lisa J. Laudon, and John E. and Nancy A. Emmi:
• $3.9 million for long-term financing of a new six-bay Alaska Laser Wash at 2301 E. Fifth Ave. in Anchorage. AIDEA's share of the loan is $3.5 million. Northrim Bank, which brought the loan to AIDEA, is financing $391,350.
• $1.7 million for long-term financing of a newly purchased and renovated five-bay Alaska Laser Wash at 501 Muldoon Road. AIDEA's share of the loan is $1.5 million, with Northrim handling the other $170,626.
