Link: Fairbanks Daily News-Miner Amanda Coolley's 39-day stay on a South Pacific island is over, but it was no vacation. The 25-year-old Fairbanks resident is a contestant on "Survivor Philippines," one of the international franchises of the famous U.S. TV reality show. Coolley is bound to secrecy about the outcome of the show but has a shot at winning the 3 million peso ($63,000) grand prize. Low point of the experience: Having to eat boiled fruit bats in a cast challenge segment. "It looked like a little dog looking back at me," she said. "That was pretty gnarly."
