Gov. Sean Parnell's Rural Action Subcabinet flew to Tanana on Monday as part of its third tour. Stops also are scheduled for Ruby and Galena. Attorney General Dan Sullivan is the chair of the subcabinet. Also traveling are Emil Notti, commerce commissioner; Mike Black, his deputy; Larry Hartig, commissioner of environmental conservation; Click Bishop, labor commissioner; and John Moller, the governor's rural affairs adviser.
Sullivan said the subcabinet is looking for ways to improve the quality of life for rural Alaskans. He said there will be three days of public hearings that will help shape recommendations for the governor, particularly in the areas of economic and energy challenges.
