Pfc. Jeffrey "Chris" Harwell reminisces about his friends following a memorial ceremony honoring Staff Sgt. Shannon Smith, Spc. Thomas Lyons and Spc. Zachary Myers Friday morning October 2, 2009 on Ft. Richardson. Harwell knew all three soldiers. "Don't take your freedom for granted," he said afterwards. "Freedom is not free. Sometimes like in this situation people need to do the ultimate sacrifice. You need to remember that. A lot of people forget that and a lot of people bash on the people over there and there's no need for that. We're fighting as hard as we can to get the job done. " Harwell paid tribute to Myers at the ceremony. "I'll always love him. I'll always love all three of them. Everybody keep praying for everybody."
