Fire stations offering booster seats for $10

Car booster seats will be available for a $10 donation from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. today at three local fire stations.

Children must be present to obtain one. Booster seats are now required by Alaska state law for children ages 4 to 8 years old, under 65 pounds and under 4 feet, 9 inches tall.

The Alaska Injury Prevention Center, Safe Kids Alaska, and the Anchorage Fire Department are distributing the seats at the following fire stations: Station No. 1 at Fourth Avenue and A Street; Station No. 4 at Tudor Road and MacInnes Street; Station No. 12 at 76th Avenue and New Seward Highway.
