The game is set for 6 p.m. in San Bernardino, Calif., but not much is known about UAA's opponent.
American Sports University, founded in 2006, plays a schedule against mainly NAIA schools. The school's Web site includes one page on athletics, consisting mostly of a mission statement and a list of professional teams in the area. There are no team rosters, no statistics, no results from previous seasons.
The Seawolves aren't worried about getting to know the team on the other side of the floor. They will be working on getting to know each other. A pair of transfers are projected to be in the starting lineup along with a player coming off an injury redshirt year.
Malcolm Campbell, a 6-8, 265-pound center, came to UAA from Division I Hartford. Donnie Lao, a 6-3 junior guard transferred from Salt Lake Community College. They are expected to join junior guards Brandon Walker and Kevin White and junior forward Casey Robinson in the starting lineup.
Robinson was the leading scorer through the first three games of last season for the Seawolves before being sideline by an MCL injury. White, the only player remaining from UAA's run to the Final Four in 2008, averaged 8.5 points, 3.4 rebound and 2.9 assists last year. Walker average 11.4 points and 5.7 rebound last year.
The contest against American Sports University counts as an official game for the Seawolves.
On Saturday at 3 p.m. the Seawolves play an exhibition game at Division I Long Beach State.
