College public relations director Elizabeth Andrews said the media exclusion was part of Palin's contract for speaking at the private school Dec. 2.
Andrews said members of the media can attend the event with the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential candidate only if they got some of the free tickets previously distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
Before her speech, Palin is to sign copies of her new book, "Going Rogue," at a Springfield bookstore.
