General Manager Kirk Duncan says more than 62 inches of snow has accumulated as of Saturday at the top of the mountain, and 28 inches at the bottom, making a good base for a successful season.
Warmer temperatures and rain forecast for today could change snow conditions and affect plans to open Saturday.
Duncan said the crew will make a decision whether to open on Friday.
In each of the past two years, the Juneau ski area has opened the second week of December.
