PALMER -- Thieves have hit the Alaska state Division of Forestry's property in Palmer again, making off with three all-terrain vehicles.
Spokesman Norm MacDonald says the ATVs were parked behind the division's airport facility earlier this month, ready for winter storage.
MacDonald says the theft will crimp the department next year because it can afford to replace only one.
It's the second theft of division property in four months. In August, a burglar stole numerous items from firefighters' vehicles while they were in Fairbanks working on a wildfire. An arrest was made in that case.
