GeoNorth, LLC, an information technology solutions provider, announced that Steve Finneran has accepted the position of senior GIS programmer/analyst. Along with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science from the University of Alaska Anchorage, Steve brings to GeoNorth high-level programming and analytical expertise. His most recent position was a senior systems analyst for the Municipality of Anchorage.

• The Alaska Broadcasters Association inducted Mike Porcaro into the Alaska Broadcaster's Hall of Fame at their recent annual convention. Porcaro was lauded for his work as director of the Alaska Broadcasting commission, and his broadcasting work with KENI, KENI-TV, KBYR and KJZZ. While at the APBC, Porcaro was instrumental in introducing public radio to Anchorage, Juneau, Barrow, Wrangell, Petersburg, Ketchikan, Homer, Kodiak and McGrath, as well as public television to Juneau. He helped garner the special permission necessary from the FCC to create a network of mini-TV stations and, along with Augie Hiebert, gained the permission of the networks to allow their copyrighted content to be retransmitted across the Alaska satellite system. Porcaro also initiated an FCC rule that opened the lower frequencies of the FM band to commercial and non-commercial broadcasters.

David Hardy, EIT, a graduate from the University of Alaska Anchorage, has joined the transportation department of WHPacific Inc. as a civil designer. Hardy has worked extensively on civil design projects, producing design drawings and obtaining permits for coastal projects. His experience includes road projects, civil site layout, wastewater design, and providing support for estimating and specifications.

Michael Bruno, CFP, has joined KeyBank as a financial adviser for Key Investment Services. Based in the Benson Boulevard branch in Anchorage, Bruno will provide financial planning services to clients throughout Alaska. Previously, Bruno was a branch manager and insurance executive for Wachovia Corp. He graduated from Villanova University with honors and is a certified financial planner.
