Wade's attorneys ask to delay trial for three months

Defense attorneys for accused murderer Joshua Wade are asking for a trial delay, according to paperwork filed in U.S. District Court on Friday. Wade is scheduled for trial on March 15 in Fairbanks. His attorneys want to delay it by three months.

Wade, now 29, is accused of the 2007 torture and murder of his Sand Lake neighbor, nurse practitioner Mindy Schloss. He will be tried in federal court, where he would face the death penalty if convicted.

The reason for the delay was not available in public documents.
