Here are highlights from some of the more offbeat letters we have received recently. Where sloppy grammar, skewed thinking, incoherence or outright weirdness might embarrass the author, we omit the name.

WHOOPS, WRONG GUY GETS THE CREDIT:
Mayor Sullivan's (sic) address about abuse and violence is correct. We should do more about the harms that are committed. However, I feel it is important to say that some of the laws are a bit harsh on men... (ETC.)
(SEMI-COHERENT) QUESTION FOR PALIN:
We, Ak Native People, would like to know (since your kids are partly Native) on your going "ROGUE" if you'll fight for more of what's entitled to Natives because we were here first or are you going to suppress your family's Native bloodlines to ensure your successs and dine with Rush L.? (ETC.)
HUH?
(This one came in appended to someone else's gripes about House Bill 10, whatever that is - it wasn't clear from the email ).
I am with the Prop 9 Tax Cap municipal tax payers league. This has not been talked about to my knowledge and needs to be published and discussed as soon as possible. The public needs to know what is shortly to hit them from our Legislature.
DOESN'T KNOW OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF ANCHORAGE
Sunday December 6, 2209 at 5:40 pm I received a phone call from the State of Alaska, Department of Fish and Game and was asked if I would participate in a survey about wildlife in the Anchorage area. I readily agreed.
The questions were about the presence of wildlife in the "Anchorage Area". After truthfully answering eight or ten questions I found the survey somewhat puzzling.
I then asked exactly what the "Anchorage Area" meant. I was suprised when I was told the "questions" being asked encompassed the area between Knik and Portage.
I had to then ask to have my answers removed from the survey since it is unreasonable to expect or want the same wildlife viewing opportunities within those areas inhabited, and heavily used, by humans and those areas outside the "occupied city limits". In my opinion the results of this survey must be considered slanted and unreliable for obtaining any useful information.
