SALCHA -- The death of a Salcha man is being investigated as a homicide, Alaska State Troopers said today.

David R. McEachern, 54, was reported dead about 8:40 a.m. last Wednesday after his body was discovered in his cabin off Tom Bear Trail, troopers said.

The investigation determined the circumstances surrounding his death were suspicious. Troopers did not immediately release further details.

Investigators say they have interviewed numerous individuals, including McEachern's friends and family.
