LeDoux denied bid to represent Muldoon

ANCHORAGE -- The Alaska Division of Elections has denied former Kodiak legislator Gabrielle LeDoux's filing to run for a state House seat in Anchorage, saying she hasn't lived in the Muldoon district long enough.

Elections Director Gail Fenumiai said LeDoux's filing indicated she'd lived in the district since May 15, and the law requires a candidate to live in their district for at least a year. But it's likely just a temporary setback.

Fenumiai said LeDoux can refile for the office once she's lived in the district for a year, and the filing deadline for next year's election isn't until June 1.

LeDoux, who gave up her Kodiak seat for an unsuccessful 2008 run for Congress, is seeking the Muldoon state House Seat held by Democrat Pete Petersen.
