Killer whales in Nushagak River
Three killer whales have been seen in the Nushagak River in southwestern Alaska for the last three weeks.
Over 35 swans, mostly trumpeter swans with some tundra swans, were seen gathered at Potter Marsh on Monday evening, Oct. 3, 2011, as they prepare to migrate south for the winter months.
Flocks of waterfowl are making stops at Cheney Lake in East Anchorage as they migrate south for the winter.
Spiders gathered in unusual clusters at a field east of the Huffman post office in early September 2011, spreading silky thread over fireweed and other plants.
