The National Wildlife Federation wants to set aside enough land to cover Colorado and Wyoming for the polar bears. One would expect an outline for their long range wildlife management plan and explain why they need 200,541 sq. miles for polar bears. They don't is because this has nothing to do with polar bears. This is all about their no energy policy.
Not only are groups like these against oil exploration, they're against coal, wind, solar, nuclear and hydorelectric. They have active lawsuits against every energy developement program we come up with.
If it isn't the meddow jumping mouse in Alabama it's the Zapata Bladderpod in Texas. Some bug or weed no body gives a rip about. Never is a thought given to the survival of the human species.
So help me out here. How do we go from 5,000 polar bears in the mid 50's to over 25,000 today and claim they are endangered?Does anyone know how many polar bears there should be?

Open high school campus is the American way
Im not sure if Dione Knowles has been in Alaska long , I have been here since 1969, I also attended Service Hanshew High. in those days it was a Jr and Senior High School. both attending were considered young Adults. Thats what we were then. Service has always been Open Campus, we were the first students to fill the school. We had Truent officers or of the time Narks.There were some of us that went home for lunch , some fast food joints, etc. We were young Adults. Some students smoked, then we had smoking areas. There are good reasons for Open Campus, If that is not to your liking, there are other places to live that police all people. But those places don't carry the name of United States of America. Myself I love Alaska . Its my home. As for the shooting at Service, it could of happened anywhere. I'm sorry for those concerned. I have two boys in Heaven.To take away all freedoms is to give in to Terroism.I suggest if you see these young adults doing something wrong, call Service and sic the narks on them. Just as our elders did. the young adults will mature with age. my friends and I did. You can be an adult too! Now relax breath and have a great day. And by the way have a Very Merry Christmas Too!

Corporations aren't people!
Corporate personhood that allows Wal-Mart to abuse employees with minimal legal repercussions is the same legal mechanics that allow healthcare corporations to deny coverage!Medicare for everyone would solve that. If the corporations want to be persons allow them to opt in to Medicare too. Or just get real -- quit treating Signa, Humana, and for God sakes Wal-Mart as legal persons!!!
