Troopers arrested the homeowner, Jennifer R. Spain, 48, and Michael D. Halla, 27, on multiple charges of misconduct involving a controlled substance, according to investigators.
Troopers executed a search warrant at the home off I Street about 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, when they found an active meth lab using the "one pot" method of production, troopers said.
While other methods of making meth require hours of heating the ingredients, the one-pot method allows people to produce the drug in about 30 minutes nearly anywhere by mixing ingredients in a plastic bottle or container, according to the Department of Justice.
Because the one-pot method is easier and faster than others, local methamphetamine producers are increasingly using it, according to the Justice Department.
Spain and Halla were booked into the Mat-Su Pretrial facility in Palmer. Halla's bail was set at $20,000, while Spain's was set at $15,000.
