FBI after man who robbed credit union Saturday

The FBI is seeking the man in the red jacket for the robbery of a credit union Jan. 23, 2009.

The FBI is searching for a man who robbed a South Anchorage Credit Union 1 just after 4 p.m. Saturday.

In Anchorage’s first bank robbery of the year, the man walked into the credit union, demanded money and fled on foot. He looks to be in his 20s and was white and Alaska Native or Hispanic, about 5-feet, 10-inches to 6-feet tall and weighed roughly 180 pounds. He had short dark-brown hair and a full beard, according to the FBI.

He wore a black-and-gray baseball cap with a clover on it, black sunglasses, a red North Face winter coat with black shoulders, a dark hoodie and blue jeans. The bank was at 8935 Old Seward Highway.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the robbery to call the FBI at 276-4441 or Anchorage police at 786-8500.
