Kenai River Dipnetting 2011

More than 300 children participated in the event sponsored by the Mat-Su Angler, which seeks to teach ice fishing and benefite the Alaska Make A Wish Foundation. More than $4,500 was raised.

Jordan Kofoad, 11, finished second with a 21-inch trout and Blake Umhauer took third with his 20.5-incher.

In addition to the fishing, there was a hand ice auger contest and geo caching lessons. Busch Whacker Decoys set up an underwater camera for kids to view beneath the ice.
